The successful candidate is likely to hold a recognised qualification in Educational Psychology and have suitable experience working within the child and adolescent age range ? S/he should be ready to engage in assisting pupils, staff and parents both in individual cases and through group intervention ? S/he should be comfortable presenting to parents to explain the rationale behind the School’s support programme ? S/he should be able and willing to develop the existing Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education programme to make it a beacon of excellence for schools in China ? It is likely, given the need for liaison with both Chinese and international staff, that the successful candidate with either be bilingual in Mandarin and English or a fluent Chinese speaker with excellent English ? S/he should be sympathetic to the needs of growing children, and whilst underpinning her/his expertise with an expert theoretical knowledge should have an approach that is practical and can be communicated in language that can be readily understood by the layperson ?
